frequently asked Questions

A selection of frequently asked questions

How is the test performed?

Our new tests enable a very pleasant testing process. We use a fine swab to take two swabs in the nose and not just in the nasal concha. It is currently no longer necessary to swab the back of the throat or the back of the nose, which is why the test is also ideal for children or the elderly.

When am I not allowed to take the test?

If you have a high fever or loss of smell and/or taste, we ask you to call your family doctor or tel. 116117 and to stay at home for the time being.

Which corona test is the right one for me?

we offer two corona test procedures: PCR test and antigen test

The PCR test is a standard procedure in the diagnosis of viruses. The test is based on the so-called polymerase chain reaction. The genetic material of the virus is duplicated. This makes it possible to detect viruses even if only a few pathogens are present.

  • PCR TEST 24 HOURS: for a test result within 24 hours. (* From the time of sampling)
  • EXPRESS PCR-TEST-30 minutes- for a test result within 30 minutes*. *= in 95% cases
  • Rapid antigen test - for a test result within 15 minutes

The rapid tests for SARS-CoV-2 detect certain proteins of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract in the event of an infection. Rapid antigen tests can detect the different virus variants of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus just as well. The rapid antigen test is less sensitive than a PCR test. This means that a larger amount of virus is needed to display the result. If, for example, only a few viruses are present shortly after infection, the rapid antigen test can still be negative even though the person tested is infected.

How reliable is the test?

All of our tests are always listed by the BfArM and are therefore approved for use in Germany.

Our current test has a sensitivity of 97.1 % and a specificity of 99.5 %. It therefore meets the legal requirements and can detect or rule out SARS-CoV-2 with a very high degree of probability.

What happens if my test is positive?

If your test result is positive, you must go into quarantine at home immediately. Since it is a notifiable disease according to the Infection Protection Act, you must report it immediately to the health department. They will coordinate the further procedure with you and tackle the tracing of your contact persons. By preparing a list of your contacts, you can help make this process easier and faster. In addition, the result of your positive antigen rapid test must be checked using a PCR test. If the test result is positive, you will also receive further information from us after your test.
